Also found in the Association's basement was this video called An Angus in Your Future. The video was produced in the early 1960s and was for junior members and young breeders. There are two parts to the video. I find the second video a little more interesting, but I also laugh every time at the begin of the first video. The narrator talk about the seriousness of deciding what you will do with your life, kind of funny for a cattle video.

I hope you enjoy, and if anyone recognizes any of the people in the video let me know!

The ol boy at 7:14 in the 2nd video reminds me a bit of Jerry Adamson. You can't imitate that style!

These videos brought back many memories of my childhood. I can remember cattle of this type very well, and it is a reminder, at least to me, that the trend of today of moderation of frame is proper, however, there is always some who take each swing in trends to the extreme. My dad always liked Angus cattle, and I can remember him saying numerous times while I was growing up that he would love to have 40 Angus cows, and that he would buy some if they weren't so were so hard to sell. I can also remember clearly my dad saying on the way home from a bull sale " I feel so sorry for those Angus breeders. They keep coming back even though they can hardly sell their cattle"  I remember going to the Regina Bull Sale and about 25-30% of the Angus bulls offered for sale actually selling, and the Angus always had the lowest average price and the highest passed rate. How times have changed... and this makes me start to wonder how many changes the future holds .
