2 year olds nursing?

We have had three 2 year old heifers nursing off the cows! Has anyone ever had this happen? Why is it happening?

Because they can.  Separate them or put nose blabs on them and put a stop to it immediately or ship them.

for some odd reason, those 2yo's daughters are likely to do it as well, don't know why, but that has been my experience.those nursing rings work pretty well, a cheaper way to go is to cut the bottom off a horse halter, and put some roofing nails through the nose band.

we have three doing it this year and one was a three year old who didn't do it last year. Put the nose flaps in then ship when the calf is weaned.
