Huh.... sounds like a young kid that listened too some adult pop off about how Sullivans this or Sullivans that......  my best description of that post would be SAD.  Sad that in todays world J Sull could donate a million dollars..... or any person that is successful for that matter could donate a few bills and there will always be the nay-sayers that say  what they will about how they should have donated more, needed a tax right off, or some other poor statement that seems to make that individual feel better about themself.

KF Acres, I learned along time ago from your posts on here, that you absolutely know nothing about the cattle industry or the people that do.In fact I will go as far to say, that you probably know a little less than nothing, about a whole lot things.Just look in the mirror, the fool will be staring back at you.You sir, sorely reminds me of a young robin, all ...ss and a big mouth.Go lay in your sandbox until you are old enough to converse with adults with a fraction of intelligence.

I think in this case it IS appropriate to pile on, The comments against the scholarships are nuts.  I wish to thank again all companies, and organizations including Sulllivans who do support youth in this way.

OK, OK let's not  become what we are criticizing KF Acres of being!! Let's cut the name calling!!  My hope is that KFA did not think before posting--one of problems with immediate communication formats  like SP--and that he's had some time to think it over.  It looks like everyone had the same response and he's aware of that now.

Let's get back to what this really should be about--thanking those who provide these opportunities for our young people!!  Again, thanks to John and all the other people who actually take the time do the work and spend the money to offer scholarships for our young people.  I serve as a trustee on a few scholarship committees and I fully understand how difficult it is to select these young people for these scholarships.  Its kind of like judging a show---you'll always make someone happy and someone mad!!!  Did anyone ever think that the Sullivan family and others who provide these scholarships are not the ones making the selections??  Many scholarship recipients are selected by a committee that doesn't even include the primary financier of the scholarships.  In fact, these selection committees are usually kept confidential to promote objectivity on the part of the committee members and alleviate the whining and complaining on the part of the applicants who don't get selected.

IMHO we should be thankful that there are people in our industry with the compassion to offer opportunities like these to our young people!!    I encourage anyone of college age to get on line and check out any and all scholarship possibilities.  Every year I hear people from organizations who offer scholarships comment that they had a very small pool of people to pick from or that no one applied for their scholarships!!  I would bet there are scholarships being offered in your home town that you are not even aware of.  Just as you might need to look at more than one line of genetics to build your herd, you may need to investigate several ways to finance your college education.  In other words, the scholarships won't come and bite you in the butt---get out and look for them!!  Consider your scholarship search a part time job and work at it during your junior and senior year and I think you might be pleasantly surprised!!  I encourage my kids and the kids on our beef team to do this rather than work a few extra hours for more gas money, etc. or watch that same movie for the 13th time!!  JMHO

O mr sull your so great.. o thank you for all you do.. o your so amazing.. (clapping) (clapping) (clapping) (clapping)

Need a tax write off?  or just looking to stir upsome business?

It will be interesting to see who wins these scholarships- those who need them, or those who get them.

If its a true and honest program, I'm greatful, if not????? (angel)

1. Are you stupid?
2. You changed your name to "the truth". Should have changed it to "the prick" "the idiot" "the dairy farmer  ;) "
3. Looking at your profile and your latest posts, seems you have a problem with the the Sullivan's and this was your opportunity to pop one off at them.

Pretty big man we got right here folks...

Your sarcasm is a pathetic attempt to insult a great person who is doing a great thing for the young folks who are up and coming in the cattle business and are looking to further their education. Like OFS said I don't think Mr. Sullivan needs any help stirring up business as he has some of the best cattle in the country and a great show supply business, which in my mind is an understatement to say the least. He has the ability to give back and HE DOES. How many big time breeders do you know that have this same ability, but choose not to use it? Think long and hard before you post, many people read these posts, probably some of your neighbors too.

Can someone provide a direct link to the scholarship application?

Thanks,
Tony

Needed to get this back into everyone's minds for positive reasons.  Here is the direct link to the application.

http://www.sullivansupply.com/Texas/scholarshipap.pdf

I only wish that I were still young enough to have the opportunity to apply.  Good luck to all of those that do fill out the application!  <party> (thumbsup)  Also, thanks to the Sullivans's for giving back to the industries that have given them so much. <rock> (clapping)
