Heres a heifer calf out of Jim Comptons Fresh Air 35 bull who sired some really nice functional cattle commercially and purebred with very LTD use. He has good numbers bring sired by Creole and out of a MASSIVE JPJ Cow-and Triple Clean-and they also make very attractive females-1St Pic-one day old need to zoom cuz momma had no sense of humor-2nd-4th pics-This morning at 5 days old. The calf was 8 days late and 89 pounds -out of a not real great looking Assasin daughter who is very maternal like her dam but not close to a 0 bw calver-She barely showed anything the night before-Next morning the calf was dried off-And walking around-Its by far the best shes had:and should be an improvement over her And the calf will carry his performance-Cow is real moderate-The calf looks to have a lot of grow and is as sound as Ive had in many years at that age

Everyone wants to produce a calf that is put together well like that one.  Do we get in touch with you or Jim to order semen?

Dale Allison on here has a couple FA heifers one got injured but is still very good the OTHER YOUNGER ONE IS LIGHTS OUT and has been from a very young age: maybe best FA ever born- Where all the others go through multiple bean pole stages then fill out from what seems like nowhere Champ Shorthorn steer at Iowa State Fair was like that- He didnt get a bid and turned into what was said to be the best purebred Shorthorn steer in the US by a large margin PER several well known show luminaries They aint all world beaters but they all show more real performance than any sire I have ever used Along with very good epds-and better than that carcass numbers O0

Thanks shes Low BW so far too. Theres a roan steer baby I posted awhile back in another thread that is hers. Depending upon how he developes hes a registered Shorthorn that may run with the appearing ones in Texas Nobody much is raising cattle like that right now PS the Champion Shorthorn steer at the Iowa State fair (pictured) was a fesh air. Hes got as much performance as anything Ive ever used He maybe a little hit or miss, and they start out as beanpole looking things that go through stages that drive u KOO KOO. Then if they change-They turn out OK There should be a thread back in the booshes on here that has pics of him and some other calves by him

Hey Texas I like alot of different ones And I aint barn blind about any of these. But the Fresh Air bull is useful and they may not all be great .But they made some good cows and have as much performance as any Ive been around. This was her first calf. This year she had twins second go and it really took her down. And she has not been in some lush rain forest. Drylot and hay. Shes raising a roan steer who was in a "calves' thread when he was real young and really doing a good job. Scroll down page 22 in your travels. And I like to see everyone's calves. https://www.steerplanet.com/threads/full-blood-maine-weekly-update.44143/page-22
