Lots of power but poor mileage at about 8-10 loaded.

Trucks themselves are built tough, had two '98 models.    Keep an eye on the rust above wheels and lower doors/cab.

Worth about $3-5K.

I had a 96 v10 watch the rust. Its a dodge so the automatic tranny probably sucks. The fuel mileage is pretty accurate. Mine saved my life during a head on collision so I am pretty partial to them. The frame withstood the shock and the cab never caved in so they hold up.

Had three with Cummins and one V10 since '94. Drove the three Cummins just over 1 million miles and drove the V10 for 20k.... :'(

I own a v10 and some diesels! The v10 is a work truck the gas milage aint great but if you are just using it to pull a trailer go for it! Mine is a good truck bought it for about $7000 less than a diesel! So here is the thought how much gas can yo buy for $7000. I know it sucks pulling up to the gas pump but if you buy it right you actually have quite a bit to put towards it!

I owned the 1997 diesel model, and my pasanger an I would be dead had I not. I got hit head on, it was a nasty accident, but that truck took one heck of a hit. I now have a 95. They may have the rust but I have had no major issues with my older dodges, and again, super safe. If It was me, I would buy it in a heart beat.

Oh and I bought mine at 90k miles, It had the barrings replaces at 130k and was going strong befor it was hit.

the 95 has 200k on it now , I had the frount end rebuilt so I have put 1,500 in it, besides that runs like a whistle the past two 1/2 years I have had it.

my concern- this was the time frame when Dodge trans were junk... anyone have this experience?  But I'd say that if you can get a couple k miles out of it-- maybe a junk trany isn't that bad...

If it's in decent shape it could still be a good truck.

Transmissions can be an issue but I think there were fewer issues with the V10 as compared to the torque of the diesels.

You will need to pull an oil well behind it to keep fuel in it though.

I had to replace the tranny on my v10. Depends on how many miles and how hard of a life that it has had.
