Any good tips for taking pictures in the snow?

I think the heading pretty much sums it up. I have heard that snow on the ground makes a really nice backdrop for taking pictures. Are there any tips or things to look out for?
Knabe- you would be a good one at this, not sure if you know what snow is!

Don't "write" the animals name in the snow behind it. I really don't think there would be a classy way to do this.

Thing that works well for me is try and take them by the side of the barn or other building to reduce the amount of sun glaring off the snow.
