These are all Shorthorn sires. JBS Signal is an older bull ( I think from the 80s) who was sired by JBS Astronaut and if he is the one I am thiniking about, his dam was by Deerpark Dividend.
I am not familiar with a bull called Timeshare, but I a m thinking this is semen from one of the many sires that Timeshare Breeders used to have. Check it out,as some of their bulls were good. Timeshare had a large number of bulls including RPS Tribune, the sire of HS Rodeo Drive 062WR.
Golden Doc was a red neck roan bull that sold in the Denver sale to Twig Marston in KS and later to Bruce Wallace in North Carolina.I really liked this bull when he sold, but I have not seen many offspring. I remember one super female selling in Denver a few years later that I would have loved to have.Golden Doc was sired by AF Deerpark Dividend 79, who was one of the better Dividend sons. I tried to buy Golden Doc when he sold in Denver.
Seville sold for $105,000 and was sired by GR Dreamboat from a IDS Duke of Dublin dam. He was a huge bull and he sired cattle with birth weight and extreme size. I have seen some Seville cattle that were OK though.
Combat is a bull I remember but I have no opinion on how he bred.... I remember him being promoted, but I do not remember any offspring.. so that is maybe all one needs to k now about him/> Are you sure this is Combat or is it Combo.... Combo is a different deal. He did leave some noticable calves.
Titliest was a Denver Champion for Sutherland Farms, Prospect, KY. In my opinion he did not put enough thickness into his cattle. He worked with a few cows that had lots of volume. He left better females than bulls in my opinion. Sutherland's Marellan cow worked with Titliest pretty well.
Powerplay is most likely AFK Powerplay who was a GR Combo son,and he was out of a very good cow named Bonnie Ruberta, who was a daughter of Deerpark Leader 18th. Powerplay left some good daughters.... most of which would not be stout enough for today... but that does not mean this semen should be discarded.
Masterpiece could be one of a couple of bulls. I assume this is GR Masterpiece, who sold to Spring Place Shorthorns in Georgia. Spring Place also had the Combat bull that is also listed here. Masterpiece was sired by JBS Astronaut and was out of Abbotts Lil who was also the dam of GR Dreamboat. She had a Chi grandsire.
Irish Special was GM Irish Special, who was also a National Champion .He was a solid red polled bull sired by Lazy D Irish Special. He was a bull with some depth and thickness and he may be a bull worth trying again. I personally liked Irish Special and he had a pretty decent pedigree. His sire Irish Jack was sired by Sutherland Ransom 179 who was a real well muscled bull that Waukaru is still using in their herd. Irish Jack was out of a Deerpark Corofin cow that was one of the better Irish import cows. I would not throw this semen from Irish Special out !! I am sure someone would like to buy this.
Check out the cane code 627 as well as the embryos and let us know what they are. Hope this helps
JIT,
The bull from Timeshare could be anything from "
Guinness" to "
Seven T's Greg".
You mentioned the Combat bull, which was probably "
SPS Combat", and you are correct. He was owned by Spring Place Shorthorns (Carl Poteet) down here in Chatsworth Georgia where I now live. Combat was a son of
SMF Fifth Avenue" and he was out of a Maine Anjou cow called, "
BVR Satin 22S" sired by "
Calberta North Star 25N". I was told that Combat's mother was as long as a double cabbed duley pick up truck, and she had legs as big around as coffee cans.
GR Masterpiece of course was a maternal brother to
GR Dreamboat who was also the sire of
Evergreen Seville. I never got to see the mother of Dreamboat and Masterpiece, however was told that the "Abbott's Lil" cow was a big old 3/4 Chi/Shorthorn cross, and she was yellow with brindle stripes on her body, and she was around 63 inches tall.
Back when I lived in North Carolina, I was able to visit Bruce Wallace's place. I got to see Golden Doc and several of his calves. I really liked them.
As far as the Seville semen is concerned, considering his heavy birthweights, and the fact that he has been known to sire 10 frame cattle, I'm sure it would make good fertilize for your grass.......if ya know what I mean? LOL!
