Never smoked a joint been around a lot of it though in college and such personally I like my Bud Light .  Personnally I think they should legalize it sell it over the counter just like cigarettes and tax it that would take care of the drug war down there along the southern US border and a new tax is what our newest President wants. Legalizing it would take out a lot of crap the people that smoke it are going to whether or not it is legal just my opinion if it was legal I might look in to growing it

As someone who had to deal with DRUNK college students who mixed much more dangerous substances. GIVE ME A POTHEAD anytime. We could order a meal tray and knew they would go to sleep and not be a problem. Rarely did the kids that were high go out and cruise around. It was the ones who had a case of bud light and decided to throw some ecstasy in the mix with some Viagra maybe a little crystal meth. Now you got problems. I could tell you story's. Pot is harmless and if you remove the criminalization of something it removes the criminal element.

I am also going to have to disagree with you on this one.  I have been around a lot of different drugs, along with being a bouncer in a college town for 3 years.  I have had to deal with all kinds of high.  I have personally seen more people mixing drugs while smoking than drinking.  People are more likely to try other drugs if they do pot than if they drink.  College campus's are dumb to begin with.  No matter what you do people will be trying to rebel against something.  If you legalize pot whats next????  Prescription meds are "safe" we should let anyone get a hold of some pills.  Besides we should be trying to remove more of this kind of behavior from our country not saying that it is OK.  Do we really want 1 mill more potheads running around?  I don't think so.

Gonna have to disagree with you on this. Pot is NOT harmless. If it was harmless ,do you not think it would have been legalized a long time ago. There are a lot of medical reasons not to smoke pot. A high driver is not any safer on the road than a drunk driver. And to talk about someone drinking a case of beer & in the same sentence say "maybe they do a little crystal meth" is stretching it a lot. You will be more likely end up with someone doing "meth" that has been smoking weed , than someone who has been drinking beer. Of course this is from what I've read , because I've never smoked any weed in my life, heck I've never even smoked a cigarette. I have drank some beer in my time though & didn't do any crystal meth. I geuss I was lucky.
While I don't have any experience with drugs of any kind, I would have to say that pot is not harmless, but probably no different than liquor or cigarettes. Both of these substances are legalized and many of today's social problems are directly related to them. IMHO they should all be in the same barrel.

I have to agree with Davis Shorthorns.... I haven't done the drug thing, however I have consumed alcohol and still have beer on the weekends. Going to school, the majority of students would drink beer but there were select groups that would smoke pot AND drink beer. The students that would experiment with the harder drugs would most likely come out of the groups that were smoking pot. From what I hear, "it's all about the high".. "the high from the other is much better"........ I grew up with two brothers that smoked pot. It really messed their lives up. Not wanting to work and spending any money they had on pot. It pretty much controlled them. I know alcohol can do the same as far as a "addiction". Everyone is right about them smoking it, eating, and then falling asleep. My brothers never got anything done.
I do know that almost ALL of the people that would smoke pot, would also consume alcohol along with it....  Which makes everything worse.

I smoked my fair share in college, a long time ago!!! My concern would be in a general legalization of any type of pot. There are different strengths of the varieties. Some will knock you flat on you %$#! others you can still function. I know in my time Maui Wowie was a kick in the pants. With times changing I'm sure what's out there now is so much more potent than anything that was around in the early 80's. I don't know how they could legalize less potent strength's and not all of it. And the more potent stuff no one should be operating anything on those!!!
