It has been suggested that I start feeding my steer grass seed screening pellets (grass seed screenings ground up and pelleted with soybean oil and molasses). I don't know much about them, but I do know that they are 9% protein, 2% fat and 27% fiber. I can get them for fairly cheap and it was suggested that I start feed them instead of the corn in my steer's ration. I am not sure if this would be a good idea or not. I am concerned about totally cutting the corn out of his ration. I don't want to switch him to something else just because it's cheaper.
Does anyone have any thoughts/opinions on using grass seed screenings?
