I'm not sure if it's a combination of the last several months or the deary weather but I'm just not getting in the commercial part of Christmas this year. Yes, I've done my shopping (on-line), have put up my nativity scene & added some candles but that's it for the season. No tree, lights or cute little stuff. I'm also going cold turkey on baking cookies. Made 20 different kinds last year & told the hubby he can have one choice this year.

We don't have any kids at the house. Won't be having any parties here. Woody & KK really don't care as long as they gets theirs. I think the "give me" attitude, the crowds getting out of hand & the prices on some of these things are outrageous.

Christmas Eve & Christmas day will be spent in church & a visit w/ my parents & 2 sisters. I know the true meaning of the season & it sure isn't buying someone a Chia Pet!

Anyone else out there feeling the same?

This year the Funk's have a different kind of Christmas attitude.  We have decided to be thankful we are all getting healthy.  We've decided to cut down on spending and the kids both have adopted kids off the angel tree.  They are both really excited about helping some kids have a nice Christmas.

Red...its not about the giving and commercialism.  You have alot to be thankful for this year....your home with your critters and hubby!  Plus you have a gorgeous God-daughter to enjoy this year also.

Chin up friend...I'm thankful for you, my steerplanet family, and my "home" family.

I do have a lot to be thankful for & know that I have been blessed in so many ways. This year I want to make the miracle birth my reason for the season.
Gidget, I know the kind of year you've had & think you & yours deserve all the Christmas spirit you can have.

I'm just trying to keep in mind all the things I am thankful for..

On another note, I decided to make a few Christmas cookies this year.  Today we were stirring them up and my 4 year old Chef's assistant kept wanting to add 2 slices of cheese.

I don't have our tree or any decorations up either.  Like everyone else we are going to be thankful for what we have.  We are cutting back on presents and just getting things we can use.  Hope all of you have a great Christmas!

Red,

Listen young lady--you better get out of your blue mood pronto!!  While I'll agree that the cold weather, commercialism, and stress of the season can get us down,  we sometimes need to stop, take a deep breath, and remember the real reason we celebrate Xmas.  Besides, we're all darn glad you're feeling better and back with us!!  So just get your chin up, turn on the movie "Christmas Vacation", have a cup of hot chocolate, and think about all your friends on SP.  Your friends on SP may not make you laugh but Clark Griswold and Eddie most certainly will.  It always works for me!!

If that doesn't work--tie a porkchop bone to Woody's tail and turn him loose with KK--that ought to get some entertaining action!!

Sorry about the scolding tone--my daughter says its the only one I know!!

We told the 7 children they would only be getting one present this year.  We will tell them next week that it is one present for all 7, they still think one for each.  Didn't have the heart to break all the news at once.

yes mam! Since Woody has no tail to speak of I've come up w/ another idea. I'll rub Woody down w/ catnip & see KK go after his nip fix.
I think part of my blues is that our only daughter isn't here & don't really know where she is. Long story so not going into it.
