Barley Hay?

I have no experience with Barley hay a couple of guys have planted some this year for hay. I plan on buying some to feed to my cows and calves I wanted to check to see what other people thought about barley hay.

It has been several years since I have had any experience with barley hay.  If my memory is right timing is critical, it is a very small window to make sure the grain is mature enough and before it becomes to course.  It works best if you can grind it.
