Has anyone ever has trouble with feeding barley. We have a heifer that had very loose manure. So we were only feeding her barley. It just kept getting worse and worse. We got her tested for everything and she came back negitive. So all she was getting during this processes was braley. We stareted to think that she was a lost cause so we went out and bought a new heifer for me to show. These two heifers are in the same pin and are both getting show feed mixed with a little bit of balrey. It wasn't two days and my first hefier was fine. What do think is wrong with her? Could she have an allergy?

If you're buying show feed, it has everything she needs in balance, why are you adding barley to the mix?

Well right now we are just trying to get her used to the new feed, and trying to make the feed last a little bit longer. She will eventually be getting only show feed

To answer your question, we haven't had a problem feeding barley, we fed Woody's for many years and it is a barley based feed, we had really good luck feed it and actually prefer it to a corn based feed.
