Currently -17 outside with a 20mph wind (Feels like -54 with the windchill). Here's what I'm looking at for the next few days:

Sunday Night, Dec 14
Low: -23 °F

Monday, Dec 15
High: -21 °F

Monday Night, Dec 15
Low: -22 °F

Tuesday, Dec 16
High: -8 °F

Tuesday Night, Dec 16
Low: -19 °F

Wednesday, Dec 17
High: 7 °F

We're in Dickinson, ND - about 100 miles west of Bismarck. Right now we're sitting at -25. As of this morning all the waterers are frozen up, including their innards. I'm honestly not sure if it pays to try and thaw them until the weather warms up a bit.

Of course school is still going and the wife and I were going to try and car pool to work this morning. I got the truck out of the garage, let it run for half an hour while I showered and layered up. Got into the truck and started to head to town, made it 1 mile before the check engine light came on and it started to gel up on me. Looks like I'm staying home today afterall.

Gotta love that my dad made it to work in his 94 Ranger, but my 08 Duramax is parked back in the shed.

I woke up to my daughter saying that her walls were making a strange noise. I told her to tell her dad but she said he could not  figure it out either. So I went up there and listened to the walls, the air duct, and thought it sounded like a alarm clock that was under stuff but she said she didn't have a alarm clock. So when I got to the window and listened there well I started laughing at them then opened the window a bit and the noise got louder. It was my trucks horn going off. My husband went out and started it and it went off. It was -15 last night.

Sunday morning when we did chores it was 55 degrees here in NW MO, when we (or I should say when he did them lol) did chores last night it was -1 degree.  WOW its 9 degrees now, guess its a heat wave!  If that darn wind would slow down it would be bareable.

The thermometer says -19 right now, supposed to have -40 windchill tonight.  Sure aren't any flies around and wow are we saving on electricity this week not having to run the coolers in the barn.

With JIT's wind chill factored in, it was 128 degrees warmer here today. We were supposed to get up to 78 degrees today. Obviously on the other end of the cold weather. Before this week we were colder than average. If anyone wants to visit, I could use some help putting up some fence for our new bull pasture and breed cows.

It is a warm 38° here in Brookshire, TX. Hate to say it; But I'll take winter over summer any day. You can always put more clothes on in the winter and be warm. In the summer you can only go down to your birthday suit and your still hot. That's down here in Brookshire, TX

You and me both, Red...I HATE this kind of weather..if there were no wind, it wouldn't be so bad. The blood thinners turn my hands and feet to useless lumps in about a half hour!

I'll take summer anyday.  Winter just adds 30% more difficulty to everything.  Trying to start tractors, freezing waters, pushing snow, scooping out bunks, icy roads, and the fact that it doesn't get light until 7:30 and gets dark @ 5:30 sucks....  And the fact that you've got to put on 16 layers of clothes in the winter time is just a pain, I prefer summer time and wearing my birthday suit..LOL

My husband has trouble now with his blood thinners in the cold too.  It's driving him nuts, cold never bothered him before.

about 5" of snow now....Tomorrow (thursday) were to get ice...let's hope it decides to just be snow!

seems like after surgeries the cold really bothers me. Before I'd only use 2 covers at night night no matter the season. Now I'm burrowed under 4 & one is a thick comforter.
I'd have to see a picture of Dusty w/ clothes on before I decide I want to see him in his b-day suit!

We're finally getting a small reprieve today - a "warm" front. The truck showed -15 on the way to work today, but we're looking at a high of 10! Then it's back to the cold stuff until Monday.
