Best- 2012 24' Featherlite. Extremely nice trailer. Also have bought 4 of the Bextra Hay Saver round bale rings - a little more expensive than most, but little to no hay waste.

Worst- any lighter weight pipe gate. cows go through them like they're not there.

Three inexpensive items that I bought that works great is NU-STOCK for ring worms and Sullivan's Wart-Off.  The third item was a tool box sold at Lowes that is made by Stanley.  It is made out of very strong rubber/plastic material and has two heavy duty wheels. Works great as a show box and only cost $60. I can't think of a bad item at this moment.

Best buy was a $1750 Double Stuff first calf heifer with a Sept Gizmo calf on her side from Ward Bakenhus. Her second calf was a $10,000 Res Grand female at IN State Fair and Res Grand Jr Show  in Louisville for us sired by Vortec. The cow and daughter generated enough cash to build my barn.

I have to add some additional products.  I bought a used Kubota B7100 diesel tractor with loader and FWD.  What a handy machine!  It is smaller than most 4 wheelers and will do many more jobs.  Very handy for fencing, cutting firewood, pushing snow, walking cattle, moving bale wagons, mowing weeds and brush,  and retrieving dead deer from the woods.  You couldn't imagine how useful a little tractor like this can be.  It is truely a "mighty moe". (clapping)

I also have had little luck with roundbale feeders.  We usually buy cheap ones from TSC so you can bolt broken ones back together to make one feeder out of three broken ones.  We bought two more expensive models last spring because they said they came with a 5 year guarentee.  We figured there isn't a roundbale feeder made that can last that long around here.  They are both destroyed already.  No luck with warrenty so far.  Back to the cheap models I guess.  :

Anyone ever try the poly round bale feeders?  I looked at bulls once and a guy fed his bulls with them and said he loved them and they didn't break in the cold.  He lived in Southern MN. Wondering if anyone has had same experiences or worse.

Tried a poly bale feeder about 8 to10 years ago. still using the same oneand other than a couple of broken splices looks new.  I forgot that TSC still sells rings.  You need to remember you get what you pay for and this ring was made with very heavy gauge poly.  I have seen poly rings that would not hold up.
