1st I'd like to thank Jason for doing the Planet Red in Cathy's memory.  I've emailed Mark and her daughter Nicole to check it out.
2nd I'd like to thank "my girls" Jill Allen, Julie Sylvester, Mary Sue, Frostie, and Juli Nelson for being my rocks the past 2 years.  I don't think I would be where I am today after Cathy's passing without them.

Now...in tribute of Cathy (Red), instead of tears (from me) I'd like to hear your favorite memories of Red.  I have a lot but I want to share mine and can't wait to hear yours.

I talked to Cathy probably for 2 years before I actually met her in person.  She always wanted a corgi but never got one.  My dog Stitch had her first litter and she new I had the puppy for her.  That little dog was Woody.  My grandma passed away and I had to come home for her funeral, so I brought Woody to Ohio with me.  I pulled in her driveway and here was this crazy lady jumping up and down waving at me.  By the time I got out of my car we were both in tears.  Right then and there I got to meet the best friend I'll ever have.  If you ever met her you know what I'm talking about.  She was so full of life and love.  Some people only meet a person like her once in a life time.

Let's share the joy and share our "great Cathy moments!!:

Cathy recommended a book to me, Marley and Me, I had to call and chew her butt for the recommendation as I did not even get past the first page and was in tears. I had recently lost my border collie "Dammit". She was so cute trying to back track saying that she was so sorry. Her giggle had me laughing and I of course forgave her but did not take any more book suggestions.

she was the first person to give me any Karma the first day I joined SP.  She was always good at welcoming the new people to the board.

At Shorthorn, Maine/Chi Jr nationals in 2008, this scrawny happy lookin' lady came up to me at my stalls and gave me a big old hug, had me in a bearsqueeze.  I kinda took a step back and said "Red?" and she said "Well, yes! Come have some cookies!" And then we went around looking at cattle for a couple hours while she force fed me cookies and other snacks haha.  Then we bothered Gidget and Julie in the Maine barn until I had to go feed.  I visited her a few more times that week, and kept in pretty good contact with her until her passing.  She was a great lady, and really helped me get going here on SP and got me in contact with some other great folks on here.  She was always patient with everyone on this board, and I honestly believe she loved all of us and the camaraderie we share.  Miss you Red, make sure God's cattle don't get out of the gate!

The first time I ever heard of "Red" or Steerplanet was when I was in New York City for the Today Show deal.  That was when the Breedersworld board was hot, and this was just kinda getting started.  Red emailed me and let me know that that wasn't the only board drumming up votes for me, and invited me to check out the PLANET.

The last and most vivid memory of her was when she dropped off a home-made cherry pie at our Ohio Beef Expo display stall, and was buzzing around like a bee the whole day with her corgi.  The day was coming to an end, I saw her walk by, and I hollered and said "Hey Red, lets get our picture taken together real quick....." , she replied, "Awww, lets just do it tomorrow, and I reluctantly agreed.

There was NO tomorrow.

I've tried to write something several times but I can't put anything into words. She would have us all pumped up about something if she was still here. Probably telling us where to send donations for the earthquake victims.

Mr T, I was having trouble writing something too. All I could get started was "The nose" so I just left it at that. It's just difficult putting into words the effect Cathy's had on all of us. But to see her and Gidget together was just priceless! <alien>

SD, she was so excited in KC at Jr. nationals meeting you.  We all had such a good time there.  You brightened her day after that surgery with that silly nose!

Chatted with Mark via email yesterday.  I told him about the planet being red ect.  He had never been on here and finally came on.  He was so touched that we still remember her like we do.

She was also the one that personally invited me to the Planet. I can't find the right words to descrbe Cathy either. To me she is the sorely missed "MOM" of the this great place that we come to visit other great people with like interests. God bless her memory. Your Steer Planet friend, Red. Brent

BTW, thanks to all for sharing your thoughts and memories with us all.
