Does anyone know anything about this bull ? All I know is he's a Simmy.

Old black simmental bull born 5/2/1985 reg #1078957. Hard calving compared to todays cattle. Calving ease -5.6 bw 6.1 as opposed to todays modern simmentals with ce of 5 to10 and bw 0 to 2. On the positive they are big boned thick heavy muscled with fair to good hair and still above ave growth also they were not real tall so could still work.

There were two by Hannibal and two by Heatwave. I've seen that cow in person and she is flat good. She is a Trump daughter out of a Black Max / Maine cow from Dejong in SD. I thought I'd play around with these matings to see if I could get an appendix to run in some of these shows that have those divisions.

Shortdawg- Randy Pohlman; Delphos, OH; has a new bull that is out of a Meyer 734 x Black Max cow. Nice looking bull. Warehouse on the sire's side. Must have come from Dejong's.

I'm going to put them in with hopes that I can sell some pregnancies out of the breeding and maybe keep one for youngest son next year. They will be march 2008 calves.
