Ok guys...
County show this weekend... I think I know but need a refresher from all you seasoned showmen (&women)
Our local show is a blow and go... but I know from the past those calves sure look fitted to be blow and go.
So tell me what you use for best results.  We have black cattle.
Appreciate it!  Its supposed to be freezing and below here in Central TX Thursday and Friday!  Know I'm not gonna get anyones sympathy... but that COLD for us!!

Trained hair and a good clip job. Usually can't use any product on blow and go.

SO NONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

FINAL BLOOM?

PINK OIL?

LIGHT WEIGHT ADHESIVE ON LEGS OR TAIL HEADS? 


Just show sheen mixed with vinager, and mousse or shaving cream on the legs?  I that right/  What about that olive oil spray in the green can>  I doubt they are that strict but wouldn't want break any rules our first year!!

get your shaving cream
rub it all over his legs and brush it in good
blow it for a long time and it should hold decent for a little while.
you can do this all over his body too.

do you have a rule book for your county show? I am in Brown county and no colors, powders or adhesives or adhesive like products are allowed. The only thing keeping it from being a slick show is we are before Ft. worth.

Our blow and shows are all just no adhesives (well, some also specify no paint).  We like to use Revive - that and some time with a blower and you get plenty of pop and shine.

I would definitely check the rules, our county is blow-and-go and that is all we can do, no product what so ever. If the hair has been worked the good ones still look good.

Nobody here has a clue what you are able to use in your show.  You need to call your extension agent or ag teacher to find out what you can use and then ask people how to best use it.

It's sort of amusing to me that some folks look at "blow & go" shows like they've leveled the playing field somehow.  In my opinion, it just gives a bigger advantage to those who work hard on their calves' hair each day..... which are probably the same people who would've whipped everyone if the show were a fitted one.
