Blue Roan Heifer - near Iowa

My 7th grade son wants a blue roan heifer to show for next years county fair.  The perfect heifer would be quiet, make a good cow and be appendix shorthorn.  I let him buy $1500 heifers in the past to give your a price range.  Anyone have one near Iowa that may not win a major, but is solid?  The more unique the color the better.

i have a Dark Blue (nearly Black Heat Wave 1 on a PB Shorthorn (Roan) cow.  I live in Eastern IA - Near Davenport.  She is in your price range and nearby.
