Still want to produce some good blue roans, will it work to use Sin City on some small framed black cows ? Any calving problems to be expected ?

Make sure the cows are very deep bodied.  You will probably get a dark roan.

If you find a short squatty sim/angus with a little spot of white or two, you "Could" get more color, never know with shorthorns though...

We've had a lot of blue roans out of Blue Blood from Sullivans/Duello.  They are good calves as well.

True, and better calving ease than Sin City. We didn't have any luck with Sin City, too much frame for us, and one calf was 120 lbs out of him. Almost killed the cow. She had to go to market after this calf. Terrible loss. She was a Whiplash/Angus.

Thank you Iowann. My question was not how to get a blue roan, or what bull to use, it was more to find out if Sin City would kill some rather small black cows. I think you answered that. Anyone have any experience with calving Ace Of Diamonds ?

You sure can't argue with the success that John Sullivan has had with Vegas.

We flushed a black, deep bodied Who daughter to Carnac, Sunseeker, Warrant and Vegas.  We have one Vegas and she is by far the rockstar of the group.  I would use Vegas over Sin City if your cows are clean.

AOD is not considered to b  calving  .ease heifer bull. However plenty of first calf heifers have calved by him with relative little problems.

I have had good luck with sin city on black cows getting roans aslo I had great luck with double stuff on angus cows. The cows gave great depth and he gave bone and width.
