What are some suggestions for our Angus/Maine cows for AI-ing this year.  These cows are big!  Our calves last year were all out of Paddy Omalley and got several nice bull calves, but great heifers.  (just a handful).  If anything they got too tall and some didn't fill out enough in the butt and tops.
Suggestions . . . thanks y'all (clapping)

Naughty Pine and Warrant would work, but then you run into TH/PHA issues.  For a clean bull, I'd say Hairy Bear.

I sure do too, but if you get that killer heifer out of him, you just KNOW she's gonna be a double carrier.

Warrant is a TH and PHA carrier, and unless you want to have to completely breed around that, staying away from double carriers is the way to go.  Warrant has been throwing great hair, bone, thickness, and that overall "show calf" look that people like.  I've seen some heifers out of him that I wouldn't mind making into cows, but that genetic defect status scares me a bit.

What does everybody think about #22 unforgiven. I have seen some nice calves out of him. I think he has a bright future ahead of him.

If you are looking for a purebred bull to cross well with Clubby females, try Red Blair's Daytona. He is a Mulberry son out of the 2005 National Champ Female.

Their is nothing hotter than monopoly out right now. use him on your bigger framed cows to down size, add hair, extra depth of body, and that extra soft and sound look.
Another bull i really like is Jimmy the Greek use him on your bigger framed flat muscled cows that need powered up. Jimmy will add great hair, bone and extra neck extension.
