I have a brangus bull about 3 years old and I watched him mount his first heifer for the first time and only his prepuce was visible... This was about 4 days ago! After that he mounted her probably 4 more times and he only got everything out once, but when he did everything was normal! He is very tame as he was my old show bull and will even let me ride him around!! The very end of his prepuce was slightly swollen but it didn't bother him... I thought that was the problem so I came out the the next day and put some medicine on it to help with the inflammation and a protective spray to help with the dirt. He is a polled bull and I know polled bulls tend to let there prepuce hang out more. But today as I was putting the spray on him I was looking for any cuts or something that may have caused the swelling and I felt a lump at the very end of his prepuce!! I thought maybe it was scar tissue and that was the problem? However after putting the sprays on some of the swelling did go down... I don't know what to do!! I will do absolutely anything to help him as he is VERY dear to me! His name is firecracker bc he was born on the fourth of July out of our favorite cow!! Please help!!!  :'( Thanks  :)

Once had a bull with a tumor on his tool.  I would have a good vet check him out.

It's at the very end of his prepuce.. I think he may have stepped on it or something bc he always has it out! The lump is very hard and kind of bean shaped but bigger than a grape and smaller than a cherry...

If he's special to you, get him looked at and collected as soon as possible.

You can pet the semen tank every morning long after he's gone.

Ok was planning on that... Is there anything else I can do though? I have never dealt with this before and I know most bulls recover from it so I'm hoping he can! :'( :)

Sooooo... One of the heifers was in heat today and I sat there for 1-2 hours watching. He didn't mount her much he just kept pushing up against her...  ??? He mounted her 4 times and the first 2 times she ran with him on top lol then the other 2 times he missed her..  ::)

Sounds like you have an issue that a good vet needs to look at. As far as watching a bull breed cows, In all the years of doing this it's almost hopeless. I had a fall bull (18 months old) that I put with 28 head one spring. Watched him like a hawk never once did I see that bull breed a cow. The next spring I had 26 calves within 2 weeks. Some bulls will breed a cow, leave and you never know they did. I wish you the best but I'd sure get him to a vet. Good luck.

Yes! I have been watching like a hawk... with no luck.. Money is tight and I can't get him to a vet for a week or 2 so I'm hoping he bred the 2-3 heifers that have came in heat!!
