Is there going to be another edition of it this year?I think a rule that should be added is bulls cannot be nominated unless they have daughters in production, then maybe brand new, unproven bulls won't get nominated.

how about a bull bracket with some potential outcome besides the over repeated heat wave cunia trump debate and make it a liitle more challenging.

how about restricting bulls to some sort of lower unit volume sales.

if we do an unlimited one, we might as well just post the link to the other ones.

maybe a non-fluff picture is required.

then there would be at least a little more unpredictability and more diversity of comments.

Keep the ideas a coming!

The voting totals from last year showed the contest was growing stale as the contest grew deeper into the tournament.

Knabe to improve comments:
I was thinking about doing it in class form this year like you see at shows. Placing the bulls 1 through 8 per class then having Division Champions and then a Champion Drive.
It would break us from the traditional Tournament format but hey I’m from Big 10 country so I’m getting use to traditions being trampled on……………..

Seriously keep the ideas a coming we need to get things a rolling soon so we can have it done by Christmas time.

How about in addition, or instead of, people can nominate their personally owned herd bulls.  By the time we get to a winner, might convince them to sell some semen.

Bull Bracket III “Under the Radar Edition”

Now that sounds interesting.

What criteria should we use to decide if the bull is “Under the Radar”?

Maybe people could post pics of their "under the radar" herd bulls they think are good and then a couple pics of their best calves out of that bull.

My predictions if the old format was used this year:

  • Cunia would be this years champ

  • Heat Wave would miss the final four again

  • Monopoly would make a strong showing, possibly final four

  • Dream On would beat Meyer for the Simmy champion

  • Ildeno, Black Power Play and Sugar Ray would receive little support from the voters.

  • The Shorthorns bulls would receive the most comments

love the 'herd bull' edition...

people post pics... NO FLUFF PICS... real, working clothes, in the pasture kind of pictures...

keep breed divisions...

what about age divisions (within each breed division)??? ?...
    -prospects
    -yearling (long yearling)
    -2's
    -3-5
    -6+
-then combine those for your 'breed champ'? meybe?... (i understand you're going to have to have quite a few numbers for each... but if we rally, it MIGHT work??)

at the conclusion, get of sire contest? for those that post pics of progeny?

Do we want to include EPDs where applicable (angus, simmi, red angus, short, ect)?
