Bull Ideas?

Hey guys..
Was wondering if you all could give me advice on what to breed this girl to after her first breeding. I know that I want to breed her to Limestone Darkhorse first, but I think she is nice enough that she would throw a nice club calf if I bred her to a club calf bull. But I don't know which one to choose! There are so many. I really don't want to breed her to a black one, just so I can add some color to our black spotted fields (and a few braunvieh), but if that's what is gonna give me the best calf then that's what I'll do! I was thinking about breeding her to a shorthorn, as I really like some of those shorthorn plus bulls out there right now. Calving ease won't be as much as a concern because she will have already had one calf already. Do you all think Indian Outlaw would work on her? I really like him, not to mention his awesome color. I've seen a few of his first calf crop and am impressed.

She is a september 2010 heifer, so I won't be breeding her for a while and like I said I'm breeding her to Darkhorse first. Oh and she is a purebred angus. Here are some pics of her..

She is a sweet hfr I'd keep her straight bred. IMO she would do alot for the angus breed.

Eye Candy would more than likely throw you some color while adding some depth to her. I bred a PB angus cow to eye candy due in the spring.

Limestone Great Divide would be my choice for a PB Angus calf

I don't think DARKHORSE is a heifer bull,breed her CARPE DIEM for a small baldy.

Your 1st toiught is a good one: Indian Outlaw,Carp Diem-for a baldy,Cotton Mouth,baldy again,I really like Young Money-hes Eye Candy-XClubby Shorthorn-and clean-best of both worlds per-se-and you might get a blue roan,Shorthorn-3-way-Angus has gotta work O0

I would recommend keeping purebred or breeding to a Shorthorn bull. I have a really nice Duff New Editon heifer that I like. Shorthorn x Angus make really nice females.

If I were you I think it would be a wise idea to either stick to an Angus bull or if you wanted to add some color, a shorthorn bull would work. I have used Ace of Diamonds the last 2 years and love the calves.

I agree with all of you..... I hate to try and experiment with a club calf breeding one year and then if for some reason it doesent work out I would lose a whole year out of her... but then again I know she would throw me a nice club calf.

I like Limestone Great Divide...I have considered him for her before. I'm second guessing Darkhorse for her first breeding because he's so big. Plus we have already bred a couple of our cows to him and already have a calf on the ground from him.

I think if I do end up trying to xbreed, I'll go the shorthorn route.

Make sure to use a heifer bull with a low BW the first time.....you just need a live calf the first time

I would certainly not breed her to Darkhorse her first year. I had a monster bull calf from him this spring out of a typically easy calving cow. Other than the birth wieght I like the bull, I hear there can be consistency problems though. I agree with many of the previous comments about keeping her purebred.

DMCC Bodybuilder works great on Angus-and he is very easy calving-yet thick-He is the sire of the Green valley Bouncer bull-the lowest BW maine bull there is. O0

i dont recommend carpe Diem for first calf 110 lb calf outa him probably a second calf tho you could even breed her to chill factor for a first Angus calving ease and chill factor is relatively calving ease there are better bulls but he would work white socks and good calf

She is out of Champion Hill Fullback 380, and her dam is by Leachman Saugahatchee.

I really like the Red Angus bull Fat Tony for heifers, he has  -4.3 (or in that ballpark) BW. He is one THICK bull
