Does anyone have any experience with using those cattle rubs (ropes) where the steer can walk underneath them and it applies a oil onto the backs of the cattle.  We are currently using one and was wondering if people had any experience with these and if you believe that paybe hurts the growth of hair.  It just seems to me that it would either dry out the skin/hair or something.

You are right on hurting the hair but its not drying out the skin its applying oil which will make them sweat and not let the hair breathe then he will start shuckin his hair. If its a show calf you should be workin his hair any way so when you kick him out just put some fly spray onwe use bronko or sullivans makes a good 1 to. Good luck!
