One thing that hasn't been mentioned about the viewing quality of video on your computer is..........YOUR COMPUTER........this has a GREAT DEAL to do with EVERYTHING!  Whether you're on a new Mac laptop or a 8 year old HP......it's amazing the clarity differences even when you compare NEW COMPUTERS against each other.

Mark mentions giving his customers options........and I realize this is a GOOD THING theoretically.....but when you look at video on the web from the most professional CORPORATIONS using video advertisements.....there is predominantly one size to view in.....and that not real big......due to the topics discussed previously.

When I start into a project I know nothing about......I seek out the BEST or MOST POPULAR there are in the real, cutting edge world of BIG CORPORATE advertising to see what they're doing...fully realizing I can't afford it....but maybe can pull ideas from it none the less......RYAN SEACREST......TMZ......and many others ALL EMBED youtube players on their websites. That was good enough for me.

I agree with Mark on finding the videos on youtube.....especially if you just dive into it head first without going from a link on a website... BUT.....it's really no different than googling a website......and if your webmaster is up to speed....embedding the videos on your own website IS the way to go...just like some do right here on Steer Planet.  The other personal preference I REALLY LIKE is being able to WATCH the download bar....instead of WONDERING how much longer I have to wait until the video plays.

The bottom line is....video is the future without question.....we've just got to get comfortable with it like we have websites......and the best way is discussing it amongst peers like we're doing RIGHT NOW!  I can't believe that JEFF at CATTLE.COM has been SO QUIET....where are you???  Enlighten us oh great one!  Thanks.

Tusa show cattle , Jacob tusa, I believe my spelling is right , have the quickest loading and clarity to go with that of any cattle videoes I've watched. Spoke with them and they said they did the work themselves and explained the download process to me. Which I didn't grasp with my computer knowledge.  I think they still have an advertisement from their October sale on the front page of steer planet.

It's FUNNY you mention TUSA......do yo know what he filmed those videos with????......a little FLIP MINO or ULTRA HD camera.....that you can buy for less than $200.  We watched the show together at the Ia State Fair and I was messing with my Flip and he got to quizzing me about it and YES they did turn out pretty nice.

I've meant to mention this on here before....about the FLIP HD camera's......If someone is needing to do some Christmas shopping yet.....I'll guarantee you that you will love it!  NO FILM....USB port FLIP'S up out of camera and downloads straight to your computer.  The Wayne County Fair and Campbell hospital footage on my youtube site were ALL filmed with my FLIP.

Drawbacks???......The zoom is NOT GREAT, neither is the AUDIO......NOT BAD....just NOT GREAT.  But I LOVE mine, AND it's smaller than my CELL PHONE!

I have a 2 year old del with windows vista Brad and have high speed Dsl. Those tusa videoes loaded immediately    with great clarity. Videoes may be here and the future. But I don't foresee a lot of people buying individual cattle with premiums greatly over market from the video.  I'd say a person can be fooled way too easy on frame size from videoes.

ive been meaning to ask what type of camera's are you guys are using to get that crisp and clear footage?   brad, the video of you driving your truck to meet with the vet, if i had used my camera for that it would have been fuzzy, in and out of focus, and made everyone motion sick, lol....so besides the flip camera, what else are you using, if you dont mind sharing?  :)

couple more ?'s....

what are some "must have" features on the cameras you use, both video and still?  is there one product that will do both(video and still pics) thats affordable to the "amateur?"

what resolution do you save video and stills in?

i have used wmm and when i go to save it as a movie, im given about 20 different choices...everything from save as video pocket pc to dial up to broadband to dsl/cable....the list just goes on and on....which is the best choice for youtube?

speaking of youtube....i was thinking (imagine that!)....mark, why couldnt you develop a "channel" for each one of your clients and then link that channel to their website...all their videos right there on one page....their page...their videos wouldnt be lost in the "vastness" of the tube, you could get all the benefits of youtube, while easing the download time and storage space used on your customer's websites....just a suggestion...im sure its been thought of and there are reasons from the "business" end i probably wouldnt understand, lol....but seemed like a good idea to me...:)

thanks for starting this thread by the way...ive been taking notes...:)....us amateurs need all the help we can get, lol
