Has anyone taken a Sullivans clipper case on an airplane as a carry on? I am leaving on Monday for the Illinois State Fair, but have a show this weekend so I can't ship them now and have them there when I get there. Any opinions?

Lock the case and check it in.  Put the case in a larger suitcase and check it in.

We lock the case, add a fragile sticker and then check the case with the clippers in it.

The only way you are going to be able to do this is to do what the other suggested. Check them in. They will not be allowed to be carried on. Trust me!!!

don't lock it, they will tear apart to get in it too look.  Lock it with a zip tie so they can check it easily if they choose.

We were advised to put clippers in the case and electric tie the ends to each other if you can, so they have to take it all, not just one set and check them.  The blades we put in one of the protective roll up cases in our luggage down in the middle with a tag on the outside of the roll up case, clipper blades fragile.  That way if they do search your luggage, they will be careful when they open it out.   You must ck the blades.  The clippers you could get by with, but blades, noway. Also, if you label the clipper case, agricultural use and fragile.  They usually may open, but the theives are deterred because who wants it to sell on the street?  Good luck

I fly and travel for aliving. I have found it is much easier to just check your items that you think might be suspect at all. Otherwise you be sitting in the checkin line trying to FED Ex your clippers home because they will throw them away. The blades will present a problem. Checked luggage has become much safer in the past few years. You could also fed ex your clippers overnight specified delivery time to the hotel you are staying at. It might be a little costly. I have done that with things as well. I would not take a chance and try to get them through secruity.
