Some people swear by it but I think you'd be better off leaving the winter hair in to help train the new hair.  You're not going to have that much hair growth in 1 month (end of March to end of April).  Good luck!

I body clipped our heifers down to about an inch of hair in December, and now they have great hair. I planned on doing some body clipping on them again after the Kentucky Beef Expo. Not slicking them, but taking them down. It seemed like we got great regrowth in the fall when we did it in August too (but then again, you WILL with the weather change).  I like to have new hair to work with going into Jr. Nationals, which is why I'm going to do a little of it.

WE torch them out and do not see the lines .It all blends together
better and makes them thicken up. Did some last fall and you cannot
drag the comb through .It leaves hair for the early shows.
