Saw on Matt Lautner's Twitter/blog a picture of a week old (at most) calf with the caption sent in by the breeder: "He will be clipped and fit today and available for viewing and sale beginning tomorrow." Another: "His ears are a little droopy from rinsing but he's a great calf!" in regards to a 1 week old calf. My one question: why? They don't even have hair to clip to try and fit them?

Smh.....

We start marketing calves at a very young age, but they aren't touched with clippers. The really tame ones will be combed, but that's only if they allow it by standing still in the pasture/field.

Oh don't get me wrong it's great to market basically from birth but seriously.. Let calves be calves for atleast 3 months... I can't believe that at a week old they would even have enough hair to even try and shape them.
