As I understand it they are voting to legalize pot? Heard some advertisements on KOA radio. Will this bring out Obama supporters? I heard some people say that if it passes the feds will make it pure hell on them by with holding highway funds. Kinda interesting deal.

Yes there is a measure on the ballot to legalize pot in CO.  I don't know all of the specifics because I plan on voting against it and that is pretty much all I needed to know.  CO is no longer the Republican state it used to be.  We have been absolutely pounded with political ads, phone calls and candidate visits etc. because "they" are saying we (CO) could be the deciding State.  So, maybe the pot issue would play into it some, but I think it is going to be a Subaru driving yuppie issue more than it will be a pot issue.  Oops did I say that out loud?

So instead of legalizing it lets just keep letting the cartels make billions and lets keep spending trillions on the war on drugs that never does a damn bit of good. Let's continue to incarcerate more people then any other country in the world. The money generated would be very very beneficial. Oh but wait its a gateway drug. That's a crock. The persons personality is the gateway. I'm sure I'm the only one on here who would vote for it. Hell if it was legal, I'd follow all the protocols and grow it myself for a cash crop. Most folks listened to nancy Reagan to much. Research it. Educate yourself.

I believe in the long run pot will create more problems than it will solve.  For me it is as easy as that.  Our economic issues aren't caused by or going to be solved by legalizing marijuana.  I don't want it to be any easier for my kids to get their hands on it.  I am all for legit medical use, but for legalizing it for recreational purposes doesn't make sense for me at this point.  If it passes it passes.  Not the biggest issue facing our state or our country at this point.

I don't know much about it but from a Libertarian aspect it kinda make sense to legalize it. I hear we are loosing a boatload of people to meth. Would weed cut people using meth? Raisng the beer age to 21 was the most ridiculous thing I ever saw.

By it being illegal it has caused a whole array of problems. Im not saying it will fix all the economic woes we face.It can help tho. Most folks who decide to smoke pot are decent people who work hard and pay there dues. The ten percent who the news loves to put on are straight out idiots. If this was truly a free country this wouldnt even be a issue. If your against it, then take the responsibility and teach your kids your beliefs. If you have ever tended a bar it doesnt take long to figure out the stoners are your buddies and the drunks are the ones causing caos every night. Yet alcohol is legal. Cracks me up. I bet Colorado or California  or Kentucky will legalize the farming of hemp soon to. And just to be clear if you grow the smoking weed in industrial hemp it will loose all potency within three growing seasons of cross pollination and become worthless. Also google Rick Simpson or THC cures cancer. Dont laugh its out there. But you cant patent a plant. Cant make much money that way if your a big drug company. Im sure there are lots of studies and opinions that differ from mine but this country has way bigger issues.

Nice to see lots of other folks out there think like me. Frostback, tell your husband I said thanks.

And there is no way Im voting for Obama. 60 minutes piece on medical pot said the feds have left them alone. WRONG. Ask California.

Meth, heroin are the worst around here. Lost a buddy of mine to heroin overdose. Started shooting heroin to quit smoking crack. Broke my heart. He just had a destructive, over indulgent personality.

Where does heroin come from? Poppies. Where do poppies grow? Afghanistan. HMMMMMM

most of the people i know that smoke pot are low life burnouts.

No difference to me in a glass of scotch or a natural supplement. Unfortunately the people you know are the people the media loves to portray. WHen you get out in the big wide world and see there are very successful people who may indulge occasion that are high functioning folks.

When I was hospitalized for 3  months I wasn't able to eat. I lost 75 lbs and basically looked like death. I hadn't ate in so long I couldn't eat. After a while your body adjust to being fed intravenously. Well they started me on Marinal. If you don't know what it is ...its a legal appetite stimulant that works great for chemo patients and folks like me that are literally starving to death. Say what you want but if it wasn't for marijuana  i wouldn't be here. My body just shut down. I actually was able to eat with appetite stimulants. Now it took me a year and half to gain weight but in the short term it improved my appetite and saved me from a feeding tube.

No pissing match here.  ???
Its my opinion and experience. You obviously haven't been exposed to the same experiences I have and have a totally different perception.  I worked along time in the medical field with a variety of patients. The statements you made demonstrate a lack of understanding of the positive effects it can have for some patients. As far as recreational use that should be an individuals choice and they would be made accountable for their actions just as people are for alcohol.

Of course I will be happy to get into a pissing match.  ;D

First the reason CO is like it is because of the 10 year exodus of those Subaru drivers from the perfect example of liberal ecomomics, CA, the granola state. The land of fruits, flakes and nuts is broke, has the biggest anti-business policies in the nation and is effectively bankrupt. Sounds like that hopey changey stuff works really well.

I have no more problem with LEGITIMATE medical pot than I do Tylenol. Who in their right mind would?

Sorry, doesn't effect me. I have no buddies that do meth, heroine, pot or even drink irresponsibly.

Why make ANYTHING illegal? Just get your kid a helmet and tell him life is tough.
