COW QUESTION

We palpated our cows last week, and one of our best cows (had twins last year and our best prize heifer the year before) was not pregnant.  The guy that palpated her said he felt a cyst on her ovary (or uterus?) anyway... being old fashioned she's set to go to the sale block (had plenty of time to get pregnant after AIing (had clean up bull).  Wanted to ask what some of you would do with her?  Thanks!!

If they have a cyst, they can't conceive. Seeing as how she was cystic, she probably would have cycled every 8-14 days. We had a cow have a cyst a couple years ago, and the vet just popped it off and she has been fine ever since. I know that a certain percentage of cows that get a cyst once will get them again.

You could also give her a shot of cysterelin and that should take care of the cyst.  If she is younger than ten and you really want another calf out ouf her I would give it a try.

Had a heifer that had a cyst, and didnt take. gave her a shot and bred her, she calved in march.
