Has anyone used this bull and if so what are your thoughts on Him?  We need a shorthorn to use on a Jakes Proud Jazz to widen the top and clean up the front, she is also a heifer

Personally, I'd rather see a proven calving ease bull used on a heifer, as oposed to a clubby type deal

Actually the fact he is a carrier is the first information I would want to know because using a carrier of a lethal recessive when there are so many other options would be a deal breaker in my breeding program.

To me not that obvious because Lautner's web site has him listed as free both ways... A friend of mine used him and had a bad outcome...

He is a PHA carrier and is TH free.
