Has anyone seen Cyrus in person? Or has anyone seen any of his calves? I know that Trausch Farms had a really nice heifer our of him. But I haven't seen many of them. I was just wondering.

I have a Cyrus heifer that is out in the pen getting fat.  She is half of a bull heifer twin set and is a freemartin.  (Yes we checked her when we preged the heifers.) She is a pretty fair heifer.  I will get some pics in her plain clothes.  She is a market beef project and a little steery looking but that is the freemartin and the implants doing their thing.

My reply has come up empty twice now.

Here are the pictures.  If this works I will add a post with more information.

As a pretty show heifer I am not sure this is the one.  She has plenty of leather in her neck and not as feminine as you would like.  She is a free martin and implanted so steery is to be expected.  I have seen at least 8 Cyrus calves now.  All are fond of the feed bunk, get on feed, stay on feed and are easy that way.  The other 4 heifers are really nice and to me look to have a great future as clubby mamas.  The one is out of a Whiplash cow and would be hard pressed to be anything but Herford looking at her.  The 2 purebred bulls I saw were thick topped, stout, with lots of middle.  If I had to knock on them it would be they might be a little long and in combination with the big top and middle kind of broke behind the shoulder.

I am looking to breed some Cyrus to some of my sim-angus cows.  LF
