How old can a Prospect Calf be at the fair. I used to show back in the day but we had Dairy, and no longer do and want my kids to show animals. She will be able to show a Prospect Calf next year and was looking for some advise.

How old can they be.
What to feed them when we get it and when to change feed and to what.

Thanks for the Help

See if you can find a premium book or entry book from this past year for the fair you want to show in for the specific rules. At our county fair (early August), prospect calves are born in the same calendar year.

I don't have experience with raising prospect calves to show, so I'll let someone else discuss feeding.

Denver: all calves must be born on or after January 1st, they show January 25th of the following year. Western Bonanza is done by weight, prospect, progress, market, if I remember right 800 or less was prospect.
