Deer in Nebraska

Got these pics today. This deer was killed in NE and the email said it was a 38 pt. that could be a state record killed near mahoney (?) state park maybe.

it was taken between fairbury and falls city nebraska (south central - south east), rough gree nscore it was 2.5 BC points higher than the state racord, of course it has to dry first for official scoring. there is an older post about deer hunting that this was posted in including the Lincoln Journal star article.

have seen mounts similar before, I have never investigated though.  Does anyone know if this is a mutation?  Just age?  Very interesting though!  It would be pretty cool to have one.

yes mahoney is a state park right off of 180

Is this a different one that was killed illegally? They sure look alike.
Not very pretty, but sure is big.
