diarrhea in steer

What are we suppose to do about a 1330lb steer that has diarrhea?  We haven't changed his feed, we give him grass hay.  He is out on pasture at night.  We gave him scar tablets, thet helped a couple of days.  Don't want to do this every day though.  Any help would be appreciated.

irh, I would take him off grain and just feed hay.I would make sure he is drinking plenty of water. If this has been going on a while ,call or take him to your vet. I f this is a one time deal I would not worry.jmo, rusty

Add some beet pulp to his feed or increase it

How much grass is in the pasture? May need to keep him off of that. Whole oats in the feed may help tighten him up too if he is at his finished weight and you dont need as much gain. Frostie

Green grass will do that, I'd take him off pasture and back him off feed, just hay for a day and then slowly add the feed back in.

I agree with Jill.  Try removing him from pasture and pulling back/removing feed for a day or two.

Dump a bottle of kaopectate down him and another 12 hrs later if not better -- you will see results by the 2nd

I just increased the hay & ours got better right away.
