Does anyone notice that digital tv is worse than analong. When we use to get a storm and watch tv the picture would get fuzzy on the tv. Now we get pixelazation and the picture doesnt come in at all and the sound is nonexistent. The fact that you have to pay to enhance your tv (either with a converter box or buy a new tv) is pretty stupid. We bought a new Sharp brand tv and the picture on it with the Digital tv is worse than the picture on our 1996 Sharp brand tv without digital tv. We bought a converter box for my old tv in my room hooked it up and got all the new requirements for the new antenna and it still didnt work. So if anyone has had a good experience with DTV I would be interested to hear about it because everyone else I talk to has experiences similar to mine. I think its just another way for the government/FCC to get money out of us and eventually cause us all to switch over to cable and end up paying for tv every month.

Yes, very much.  Basically they have overloaded the pipe, meaning more channels, and increased the flow, more data, with the DTV over analog.  The signal is much more sensitive to atmospheric conditions than was analog and the input sensitivity of your box (Higher number means less sensitive so it requires a stronger signal) may be an issue.  Moisture in vegetation near your antenna will also cut down on your signal strength.  Your reception will be better in the winter than other seasons.  Also, indoor reception is only half as good, so an outdoor antenna may need to be installed to get the same level of signal

I like the extra channels, but I'm into at least $500 of equipment just to watch CSI and Saturday Night Live.  Nice picture, but then again, I'm not a couch potato.

We got a coupon and bought one of those converter boxes. It only worked half the time and it kept breaking up when it actually did work. It kept telling us if we wanted a better picture we had to buy even more equipment. We ended up just purchasing our local channels on the satilite.  :D
