Here is the dirty harry heifer that won the PA farmshow in january.  She is an April and will be bred to Exar Lutton in June.  She is certainly growing and developing into a real cow prospect.  She has done well for us and we really look forward to showing her at Jr. Nationals and as bred next winter and spring.  She will also be featured in Dirty Harry's upcoming advertisments.

thanks red that is nice to hear. does anyone have an opinion of who to breed her to?  we all like alot of the lutton calves and know that he is easy calving, but does anyone else have a better option to breed her to, I am open to suggestions.

Not sure how Ali is on linebreeding but you could always use Hard core or Pale Face... So many options :'(

I'd use Money Man or an Angus bull on her. The bone on my Hard core was too big for a heifer. Triple X (Hard Core son) is also a good choice. We had a 75 pound calf that just seemed to fall out. Gigolo Joe also has unassisted calves.

I am not a fan of alot of hardcore influenced cattle-they seem to be a lttile coarse and straight for me. Anyone think that Dr. Who could work?  I know that he is moderate of calving, or what angus bull would you use.

Her dam is a heatwave x witchdoctor.  She is black and white and ultra thick and soggy and won champion commerical a few times.  This heifer is much larger framed than her mother, although still moderate and is longer spined and better legged, just better overall.  Any other breeding suggeestions?

Our heifer we showed last year is built very similar to your heifer.  We bred her to Money man and are very happy with the results.  Check out past post under Money man calf is here.

I don't think I'd use Dr. Who.  I've heard of some big calves.  We had a Money Man calf yesterday out of a HAA Stockman heifer and love him.  78 pounds and really is a nice bull calf.  If we had better lighting in the barn I'd have pictures.

I would love to see the pictures and have liked the money man calves already posted.  To give you a liitle more information, this heifer needs to be extended up front, not much but some, and needs a little added size. She really is super powerful and sound, but I think a lttle more frame and length everywhere could help her in breeding type shows, she really has that clubby look. Co you think Paleface could do this, or is an Angus like that Lutton a better bet?

I saw the Show Circuit today and she (or her sire) are no where in it!! I was disapointed and I wanted everyone to see how good she looked all fitted up.  Keep checking for updates, I will.

They are both imprssive.  I had someone give me two straws northern improvement if we promised to breed that heifer to him. Couldn't pass it up but very impressive calf. He looks mighty stout.  Cross your fingers for us next weekend, we are showing this heifer as a cross (the judge is a clubbie guy).  Hopefully it goes well.  I will put more pictures up soon.

I like your heifer. I think Lutton is a good choice for a first calf heifer. Some of those Emblazon sons are looking interesting too and seem to be working.

Hey everyone, I just thought I would put up a few new pics of my heifer now that her sire is getting really hot. I can say that this heifer and other of his progeny are very complete type cattle. Here she is, all grown up and bred to Mamma's Boy.  She really is pretty big for her age, she is a mid april of 07 and weighs about 1200.  I am still very pleased with her besides the fact that she has almost no hair  but I guess three weeks in the 90's will do that to alot of cattle no matter how hard yo try to stop it. She has done really well for us and will be shown at a fair in late August, the Eastern Regional in October and then the PA Farm in January.  I am praying for a heifer out of this breeding! Let me know what you think.
