This yearling bull has had no grain since February (January?...I remember it was 10 below zero in Sleepy Eye) when I brought him from Minnesota to Nebraska. Then cross country to NY the first of June.
He has never gone backward and I've seen nothing to indicate he wont be the frame 4 old style grassy deep roan Shorthorn bull I've always wanted.
The fine grained tender beef Shorthorns used to be known for (pre feedlot, when they were raised on farm grass with a short term farm grain finish) should pass on to his calves.
