If the steer has guts and a big butt, then you might have yourself a pretty darn good calf. All the Kadabra steers that I've messed with (mostly just fit them a bunch of times) are really pretty fronted, had good gone, decent thickness down their tops, and they all had really good hair. They lacked in the rear quarter and guts. If you've seen a picture of Kadabra, you would know that they get it honest. The heifers out of him seem to make dandy cows. FWIW, a Kadabra steer that I worked on a couple years back won a few county fairs and ran with some pretty big time steers at State Fair.
