I did not want to hijack justme's thread so I thought I would start a thread about dogs (or pets) every one has had.

In this picture are the last 2 dogs we've had to say good bye to, the Lab in front "Brutus" was the protector of young, any time we had a young child at the place or a new baby calf, pig or what ever he would make sure that they were safe, the brown dog is an Akita mix "Zorro" he would protect the wife when ever I was not home, my oldest boy got a ride home from football practice by his coach, Zorro would not let him out of his car, I got home right after they did and as soon as I was home he could careless about the coach. He and the white dog in the background where brother and sister between the 2 we never had a coyote on the place, he weighed 120 pounds in his prime. She is still with us, she is 13 now and likes to sleep by the fireplace and lets the younger dogs chase off the coyotes.

This is Astro. He was given to us by one of my moms friends after he was retired from his show career. The only reason he didn't continue showing was because he chipped a tooth and that was considered a flaw. Other than that he is one of the best dogs we've ever had. Now that he is getting older he is starting to get some heath issues so we're trying to give him the best few years of his life now.

Here's my boys (other boys!)  Ace and Shorty.  Ace our border collie we really got to help with the sheep but thinking he wants to be a cow dog.  Shorty likes all the herding and thinks he can keep up with Ace but doesn't know (don't think that he has short legs.  (lol)  We've been dogless for years since we lost Cooder (sons tan blue lacy) about 5 years ago.  Since my boys are almost grown now figured I needed some company. Couldn't make up my mind between the two so just got both.  I have really got attached to them.  They are both really smart.  Oh yea... and unlike my other boys these boys don't talk back and still like to cuddle!  (lol)(dog)

We also have 2 anatolian shepards but they're on sheep duty... ones still in training.  Don't mess with them much.
