Thanks for the sale info. I had been planning on making the drive but we finally got an opening to make hay and I put about 100 acres up over the last few days. I wouldn't have got lot 13 Lora at that price and I'm not sure about lot 3. Looks like a pretty good sale and I wish I could have met up with the steer planet people. Maybe another sale.

Was anyone else suprised that Sundonwer didn't get a bid?  I got there late and didn't get a chance to walk through the cattle so I didn't get to see him.

Jocko Valley I think they said but from Montana yes.  He bought several other lots at the sale as well as durning the Expo sale season.

According to the sale prices above, Sundowner sold for $5250. If this is true, I guess he is walking better than he was when I saw him last fall. His feet were pretty bad, and Bob said it was from the soft dirt there. If he was walking slae day like he was last fall , I would not be surprised if he didn't get a bid.
I really liked the red Lily cow by Sonny when I saw the Duis herd last September. I flushed her in November and will be implanting about 6 of the Waco embryos I got from this flush next week. I see she sold for $5250 and I thought she may sell for more but she is 10 years old now. Her daughter that Doc, and partners got was a good one as well.

Yea, Sundowner wasn't moving the best. Bob guaranteed him & said that with 100 units of semen that sold with him & his value that the bidding should start at $2500. When they didn't get a bid at that , Bob said forget it he would just pound him out.
I really liked the red Lily cow also, but she was 10 yrs old & only selling 1/2 embryo interest. Stumpy & crew will get some good ones out of her I have no doubt.

First is was great to meet Doc,  Very good cattlemen.  Also had a chance to talk to Sue again. it is always a pleasure to talk with Sue.  She has a wealth of information to share and I think everytime I talk to her I learn something.
To expand on Doc. Post,  yes Sundowner didn't get a bid during the sale but Bob told me this morning he sold him after the sale to an small Ohio breeder for $3000.00.  I really liked the Sundowner calves, infact I will be breeding another cow to him tonight.    It was posted earlier that the sale Grossed $330,000.00 I think they failed to multiple the embryo price by the number of embryos.

The sale actually grossed $ 440,000.00.

I've got to agree with Mitch on Sundowner calves. I think that he is a good bull & about as consistent on his calves as anything Bob had. IMO.

I really like the Sundowner bull. We ended up buying some semen on him, maybe Bob will have some left so we can buy more? My brother was pretty upset about the DF Tyler bull, I guess he didn't hear the auctioneer say that 20A and 20B would be choice. He wanted him pretty bad.

I thought all those poppin girl pregnancies were a steel!  Did I hear this correctly...was bob saying that he has quite a few embryos in for next spring, or is puting a bunch in???  I would sure like to get ahold of one of those bull calves out of poppin girl and BS if he has any next spring.
