We have dyed some black before, but not red. We just used hair dye. There are so many variations in red so it could be hard to match.

We have a steer that is several colors of red, just thought that if you dyed in a dark red he would look better.

If you have Salleys hair care store around you look and see if they have DARK ROAN RED you use it just like any other hair dye make sure you get the liquid not the paste..       Mix it with hot water or Kleen sheen or show sheen stir it real good and apply...   Hope this helps we gotta red steer this year and thats what we used it made him a nice red color.. we use it on our shorthorns as well in the summer time to help freshin up the roan necked ones   THATS JUST MY 2 CENTS   hope this helps ya   good luck WSC

Dont forget the yellow flames-and some shiny rocker panel chrome along his bottom side O0 <beer>

That's a pretty good one.  (thumbsup)

Pick a shade that closely matches the calf.  If you are just changing the shade a little bit & not the actual color, it should be a piece of cake.  Agree about the liquid & mixing with water or sheen.

IDK about the yellow flames, but the chrome along the bottom side might look pretty good.   ;)
