I was wondering if anyone knew anything about a Simmy bull that ABS carries by the name Ever ready. He is out of HC Hummer 12M and a Miss Legacy cow.  He was some pretty good numbers but I was wondering if he is really a heifer bull and has anyone shown, or seen, any of his offspring in the showring?  I appreciate the help Ladies and Gentlemen.

I don't know anything about Ever Ready but I have used Hummer successfully on heifers and the calves are pretty good despite the occasional wild one.

Thanks BD.  We have a heifer in mind out of trademark and a Drake cow.  She is super nice out the front, small head, good depth...... just a little on the small frame size.  nothing bad.... but something we have to consider when looking for a replacement female out of her.  Also considering SweetMeat and Built right so we are not set in stone.

We have used Ever Ready on a few females and have seen some offspring at a recent bull sale.  Everyone who we have spoken to reports 70-80# birthweights.  They certainly seem to be shaped right at birth for use on heifers.  It looks like he will put a nice front on his offspring but I think you need to use him on soft middled, deep ribbed females.  Give Gale or Andy Van Aernam (Exira, IA) a call.  They own the bull and would give you some honest opinions of his offspring.
