Ugh!!!!
Trying to think of a good catchy name for our new bull. He's an all white pb shorthorn. Full brother to our 3 year old bull Tommy Boy. We want to try and do a much better job showing and displaying him.

There's also two Maines that I know of that are called Grand Slam...  My advice, don't name your bull the day he's born.  Wait until you know he's gonna be good, or if you sell him let the people that buy him name him.

He's about six weeks old now. Big and thick, he's going to be a keeper and I'm sure my daughter will end up showing him at least a few times before he's sold. Need a name so we can register him.

Is there a rule in the shorthorn that you can't have a name if another breeder has it? I know of at least 3 Tommy Boy's in the Gelbvieh breed alone...

I can think of at least three bulls named Grand Slam in Shorthorns over the years. There have probably been many more as well. RPS Grand Slam, a former Denver Champion and a leading AI sire in the 80s and early 90s is probably the most well known. He can still be found in some Shorthorn pedigrees fairly close.I don't think there is anything wrong with some bulls having the same name unless they are all alive and competing in the same market ( eg: the semen market for one)It just gets too complicated if this is the case, and some people are going to make mistakes.

How's that little feller bred ? Put some more of him on so wee'z can see all of him. Be creative with your naming.Call him any thing you want. If he has big Kahona's...well you get the picture.

We saw after we named Ricky Bobby that there was another one too. It's tough to come up with a catchy original name for a bull.
MYT  my friend you are just going to have to get your butt out here one day :O) You live too close.....no excuses!!!!
Zach, you crack me up! He's so dang hairy I haven't gotten down to examine the jewels :O)
Dam's name is KaBa Texas Shining Star, she has a white blaze on her head the shape of Texas. Sire is Sin City.
Here's a body shot of him when he was a few days old. Doesn't do him a lot of justice though. His back is straight as a arrow. He does have a large wing span though :O)
