Experimenting with Angus

We have been using O'reilly Factor for a few years on Simmental heifers and have liked those calves for their growth and capacity.  First heifers have been good mothers as well.  Also using Bush's Unbelievable on those Simmi heifers that we are wanting to put a better front into. We don't do any PB Angus, but those two bulls make good cattle in my opinion.

Here is an Insight Iowan with a buddy of mine. I really dig her.

I like your heifer! Thanks for sharing! I'll definitely look into Insight! Did he add depth and power, or was her dam a powerhouse?

Thank you for the info! I'm definitely considering ORF and I'll look into Unbelievable. I might end up crossing a few of my simmis to angus so I really appreciate the insight!  (thumbsup)

The Bj cattle Co link does not work.  Try looking at tghe Youngdale cataloge just to see what this herd is like: https://issuu.com/t-bar-c/docs/2013_young_dale_catalogue

What's your opinion on his offspring? Are his calves soggy and stout?

Young Dale Xcaliber 32X makes them soggy and stout along with lots of performance.  The Youngdale herd is performance with Butts and Guts. Just look at he sale catalog.
Another bull to look at is HF Tiger 5T:http://hamiltonfarms.ca/our-herdsires/ Getting semen is tough though

It wouldn't let me go to the youngdale webpage for some reason! And I took a look at Tiger as well. Thanks again for the info!  (thumbsup)

I don't think he added so much power as he did style. I really like Insight calves for having the look and power.

Winter Spring what  ulll are you talking about?
How about SAV Networth?

Mark I was referring to PVF Insight, and the calf he sired that I posted on page 2.  I cannot comment on SAV NetWorth

this is a Blue Chip bull calf we are raising & are going to show in 2017.. this pic was from October 2016.  the performance has been amazing.  He was a 71lb calf at birth & weaned in September at 904lbs non creep.  He is a February calf

Thank you for sharing! He looks really good! I'll take a closer look at BC! Good luck with showing him (thumbsup)

Blue Chip is probably my favorite angus bull out for making show type heifers. Plan on using him on one of my PB simmy cows. Should make one sweet halfblood
