Purchased a steer out of Eye Candy. One hairy steer.  Since it has been years since I have shown cattle and this is my sons second steer I wanted to get your opinion.  I only have one picture right now. The side profiles didn't come out.  Will upload more as soon as possible.

I deleted the old pictures and have added a picture of what he looks like now at 1100 lbs.

The calf is a late August calf and he will replace our market calf that will be going to the OKC Youth Expo mid March.  Thanks for welcoming me to the club.  I have been visiting the site often for the past 3-4 months.  Really like the site now that my family and I are addicted to showing cattle.

The first show the calf will go to is the Beef Expo in Stillwater this coming April.

Back in February I posted a picture of the steer we bought for my son.  I wanted to post a new picture now that he is five months from his big show (OYE).  What do you think?  (Not sure if the pic will work since it was a PDF instead of a JPEG).  If the pic doesn't come up, I will get the picture converted to a JPEG.

Doing nicely, the calf has thickened up and is showing good depth.  Just get to work on bringing that hair back.  It should be coming in now in a hurry.

I am surprised the hair has just started to grow.  When we got him, he was the hairyest calf I have every seen.  I was told the later he puts on the hair, the longer he will keep it.

Eye Candys are known for their hair.  You should have no problem keeping it.
