Political funny......

I bought a new Ford F-350 crew cab and returned to the
dealer the next day because I couldn't get the radio to
work. The salesman explained that the radio was voice
activated.

"Nelson," the salesman said to the radio. The radio
replied,"Ricky or Willie?" "Willie!" he continued and "On
The Road Again" came from the speakers. Then he said, "Ray
Charles!", and in an instant " Georgia On My Mind" replaced
Willie Nelson.

I drove away happy, and for the next few days, every time
I'd say, "Beethoven," I'd get beautiful classical music,
and if I said, "Beatles,"I'd get one of their awesome songs.

Yesterday, a couple ran a red light and nearly creamed my
new truck, but I swerved in time to avoid them. I yelled,
"Idiots!" Immediately the French National Anthem began to
play, sung by Jane Fonda and Barbara Streisand, backed up
by Michael Moore and The Dixie Chicks, with John Kerry on
guitar, Al Gore on drums, Dan Rather on harmonica, Nancy
Pelosi on tambourine, Harry Reid on spoons, Bill Clinton on
sax and Ted Kennedy on Scotch.

I LOVE this truck!!!

I guess for me it wasn't as much what they said as where they said it.  They were in a different country running down the president, I don't care if you like him or not, this is where we live, it is the country thousands have fought and died for, you don't tear it down somewhere else.
I think they were young and dumb and thought they were untouchable, I do commend them for not backing down on what they believe just because it wasn't well received in the public eye.

I agree that it would have been better if they had said it here.  I also think that the comments about Toby Keith hurt their career as much as the comments about the president.  A lot of people don't agree with the way the president does things but in country music not many people dislike Toby Keith, especially at that time, when he was singing the patriotic songs.  I don't think it as important of an issue but I do think it hurt their career.  I never did like their music though.
