We too have officially started calving.  Unfortunately on Tuesday, the heat took it's first toll.  We had a stillborn calf a little over 2 weeks early.  We had much better luck last night though.  We got an About Time bull out of one of our CTR Success donor cows.  So far so good!  After losing te first calf, we have had this cow in the barn under the fans the past two days, just to make sure she did not overheat.  The next few days are going to be in the 80's and 90's with rain, so calving for everyone should go a lot better.

To anyone calving in the fall, watch those cows and heifers early, they tend to calve earlier in the hot weather.  Our first 2 have been at least 2 weeks early so far this year.
