I'm looking to buy 6 ish hanging fan cage style fans for our barn we are finishing.  What have other people used?  I know there are Turbo fans but they're up there in price.  What do you guy's have and what do you feel is the most bang for your buck?

I see a lot of people using Dayton fans, I'm not sure what the cost is though.

I bought a few cheaper fans last summer and both have died but our turbos are still going strong. If you are going to run them 10 hours a day it is Worth the extra money. I paid $50 less for the cheaper fans and didn't get a full year out of them. We are in Mississippi and run fans all but about two months a year.

I like the turbos too but if they are staying in the barn I would get the "barn fans". They are a lot quieter. I cant remember the brand, but mine are not the Sullivan's but the ones with the white cages and I have 2 older than my kids and they still work. Not sure they are tough enough to be hauled around every weekend but great for staying in the barn.

I would go with turbos, I have some they have run 24/7 for four or five years now without a problem.  They do make a barn fan model that has a bigger cage and covers a larger.

Schaefer makes a really quiet 30" fan. I have used both Sullivan's and Schaefer. Schaefer's have out lasted turbos.

Before the show supply companies started marketing fans under their own brand names, everybody used Daytons.  I wouldn't be surprised if some of them now were re-badged Daytons.  In any case they're a quality product, and should stand up to heavy usage.  You can buy them from Grangers.
