So I had posted about my daughters shorty steer not eating like he should and just not looking good, and I was blaming the feed, and I think I was right. We switched to a feed made in Fort Collins and the steer is back on feed and acting like he has been starved. Which is good since we are a bit behind at this point. Upon looking at the old feed compared to the new feed the old feed is mostly oats, hardly any corn in it for a finisher. Just keep your fingers crossed that he starts packing the pounds on instead of looking like a red and white giraffe.
I am still looking into implants for next year when we first get the calf home but I just do not know enough about them to feel comfortable with using them, guess you could call me a chicken!!! ;D !!!
